About the Book

Children young and old will enjoy this story about a little boy's curiosity when "something big and green with a white belly" swam by in the nearby brook. This story from the author's childhood is about how he and his mother found tadpoles that later turned into frogs, and how the sights and sounds of the little brook and the surroundings came alive. The illustrations are simple, colorful and true to the Adirondack setting where the story occurred nearly 50 years ago.

About the Author

Jim Goff is a North Country poet and musician. His Adirondack songs are featured on the CD "Shunpike Road." The love of his mother and grandchildren inspired him to write this story.
