The Demise of America

About the Book

After having lived in America for almost 80 years I have an abiding deep love and patriotism for my Country. I have watched its slow decline and I am not happy about that!

The insistent and constant drive toward immorality, ignoring the Rule of Law (mostly by the government), the dumbing down of the school system and its take over by the government, the drive of the individual to have more and bigger of everything, the obnoxious escalation of salaries for pro athletes and company CEOs, the lack of Congress to accomplish anything, the silly and inane decisions by our judiciary, the drive of the government to look like Europe (North American Union & New World Order), and finally the over burdensome taxes. The Country was founded to escape from burdensome taxation and to build a new Country, unlike Europe). I could go on with the list but Chapter 4 will provide you with some of the things that need correcting to get us back on course. We especially need to get rid of the income tax, as a way of feeding the treasury, by instituting the Fair Tax.

Having been aware of all those things and the absolutely vile approach which has developed inside the government, I felt I had to write this book to try and explain all that to our children and attempt to wake up the perpetrators of those items mentioned above before it is too late.

I have also been in contact with Dr. William Arnott and his band of patriots for some time. His writings were an inspiration to me and with his permission I included many of them in the book. I also included some comments from Chuck Shaboo. Between the three of us we have lived in America for almost 240 years so that gives us the right to be critical and attempt to show how America has degraded itself almost to the point of extinction!

My intent is not to criticize and provide no answers (as the liberals always do) but to show how America has declined since we were lads and provide a litany of corrections that we feel will help undo many of the wrong steps.

Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have no idea what America once was so it is up to us 'oldies' to keep them informed. Remember, their life starts now so they have no idea what happened before their birth. That is why many civilizations use lore to keep their kids up to date. Hopefully our schools would help us do that - WRONG!! They are more interested in teaching 'the alternate life style' than American history!

The good doctor and I emphasized two of the most important deterrents to the continuation of a free America - The Invasion from the South and Islamofascism. Neither of us is overly ecstatic (to say the least) about the approach taken by our elected officials to these two most important problems. We therefore spent a great deal of print with our own words and the words of many others.

Just to keep from being too maudlin, I threw in a few things to make you laugh. Remember though, most jokes have a modicum of truth. You will recognize that as you read.

My hope is that the information provided will give more of the American people the incentive to be more pro-active in dealing with government entities such as the school system and the organizations in America whose main goal seems to be to set up a totalitarian regime in our beloved Country. We are losing America, as we KNEW her. Pray for Her.

About the Author

Chuck Slate, the author, was born in Connecticut. He and his wife Marilyn were married in December 1950. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the year 2000. The plans were to spend their 50th anniversary in Australia and New Zealand. They returned from that trip just before the publishing of his second book. They renewed their marriage vows in front of the Captain of the cruise ship. At this point in time they have been married 57 years.

Marilyn and Chuck have four birth children, three boys (including twins) and a girl. Chuck joined IBM in August 1956 and retired in September 1983. The family moved several times because of Chuck's job. They have lived in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia. They finally settled in Culpeper, VA and were there for over 20 years before moving to Wake Forest, NC to be nearer their children. Marilyn and Chuck also spent six months in England on temporary assignment.

Chuck has retired from three different disciplines and has held jobs that range from dairy farming and electronic diagnostic design to operating his own business. Since he last retired in 1991, Chuck and Marilyn have volunteered for a number of non-profit organizations. They also provided a home for foster children from 1992 through 2001, sometimes taking more than one at a time. The number of foster care placements during their fostering career was sixty.
