About the Book

This comparative listing on current and past studies is set up in two major subcategories; study results describing non-beneficial outcomes – "What's Bad" and studies reporting on neutral or beneficial outcomes – "What's Good". It covers information on major medical problems and potential solutions on how to avoid them through proper diet and exercise, but, most of all, it gives you a reference point and a platform for further research.

As you would expect, some studies are done incorrectly, some are done correctly, some within a narrow point of view but offering broad sweeping suggestions and, of course, some are performed from a researcher's biased position. One thing is for sure however, studies on everyday things that affect our health or well being are media attention getters. And, if the media is involved then headlines are made, news anchors proffer their opinions and when the hype dies down the next "Here's another study for you" is in the making. The result of all this is a bombardment of confusion instead of help!

After all of this, we are still left with the question of "Who do we believe?". The best answer is to review the studies available and believe in your own judgment. This book gives you a compact reference source to the studies for the most current, popular health topics out there:

  • Alcohol Drinking
  • Aspirin
  • Carbonated Drinks
  • Coffee
  • Low Fat Diets
  • Supplements

About the Author

Wayne grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area; the north east part of America and received his BS and MS (science/technical) degrees from the now famous Kent State University. His schooling was interrupted for 2 years to serve in the Viet Nam war.

Wayne began writing technical papers while earning his degrees. From college, and unsure what he wanted to do with his future, he went on to work as a chemist for the Summit County Engineers in Ohio and three years later he made up his mind and transferred from the science world into the engineering world. This started a career that lasted over 28 years.

Wayne's primary job responsibilities centered around how to control manpower and costs for construction projects. Much of it was done through the education of the construction workers in various international construction jobs around the world; Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan , Mexico, and Iraq. Wayne was heavily involved in writing course studies, manuals and technical reference documents. His first technical book was written while working for Caltex in Indonesia. It dealt with Total Quality Management and how to schedule work activities on multi-million dollar projects.

This book is his first professional work in paperback. He his currently living and is continuing his research with his wife in Thailand.
