The Red Dolphin

About the Book

A strange red colored dolphin is shunned by other dolphins and other sea creatures as this dolphin spends its days looking for a friend. The strange dolphin had no friends and no one wanted to be his friend. Every day he was getting sadder and madder because no one wanted to be his friend. The dolphin was always lonely, but he would not give up looking for a friend. One day he finally finds a fish that was also strange in color as he was and the two fish became friends. Later the strange colored dolphin finds out the fish that he made friends with was actually not strange at all. So these two fish learned that their similar strange color is not what made them friends. They learned that friendship is more than color and the friendship that formed between them turned the ocean into happiness and friendship among all sea creatures.

About the Author

My name is Hana Bahhur. I was born and live in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. I am eight years old. I am in the second grade and I attend Thomas Edison Elementary School in Port Huron, Michigan. Since I was a baby my parents read books and stories to me daily. When I learned how to read I even read to them. I spend my days after school playing with my toys. I collect Webkinz toys and play games on the computer. I also make up and write stories.

One evening last spring I read a story to my father. My father loved the story and asked if my teacher read the story in the classroom? I answered no. I told him I made the story up from my imagination and I wrote it down. My father really loved the story.

The next day my father asked my teacher about the story. The teacher told my father that he does not know anything about it. My dad couldn't stop talking about the story and said I should publish it.

And so one year later, here it is – The Red Dolphin, Looking for a Friend. Read it and discover how this strange, lonely and sad red dolphin spends its days looking for a friend.
