About the Book
What have you done with the time, opportunities, and gifts you have been given? So began an investigation into my life - a story I have been making up since the moment of my birth, creating and re-creating myself over and over again. A story is a container; it is the way I hold my life. Writing the life story is not about capturing and keeping that which has already passed. It is about embracing the whole of my life in the present moment and letting love flow into its every crack and crevice.
This book represents both the process and the result of my inquiry into the unfolding of my life. I chose a map:
I remember the place before I am born
And now I am born
I gather life experience and put it in a basket over my head
I cut a place for myself in this world
I go out to my edges and back to my centre
I put my vision out into the world
I release the results and offer it all back
And I return to the place before I am born
and followed it with curiosity, honesty, tears, laughter, and great gratitude for all the people, places, and experiences that have shaped me. The words on the page are the footprints I have left behind. The white background is the enormous grace through which all human lives arise.
