Jean Lucas has spent all her working life as a Conservative Party Agent in South London. She was awarded the MBE for political and public services, having been Chairman of the National Society of Conservative Agents, and also a Councillor in Wandsworth.
After retiring from politics, she turned to writing. An Edinburgh Lady, published in 2006, was widely enjoyed, and in a companion book, The Pictou Triangle she also uses the theme of Scots emigrating to Canada, in the 1820s. A previous political book was The Wandsworth Story, describing the winning of this marginal borough.
