About the Book
Taking a light-hearted look on life, not just for a wheelchair user, but also for anyone who should "get a grip", "smell the coffee", "lighten up" and stop being too bloody serious. Life;s too short to be miserable. The book starts with a tile of going to Court, and encouraging demonic lifts that only a Catholic chef could control! The book has 9 chapters talking about...where you end up when husband takes a wrong turn in a shopping mall park, supermarket trolleys that should have traffic lights to control them, as well as a government health warning where best to leave your husband and kids whilst Christmas shopping, and how to ward-off gigantic spiders, to name but a few. It has you pondering over TV adverts of cars playing hide and seek, and has dogs discussing holidays, and what hatless babies might be thinking in the winter, Bit...these are just a few of the things to take a "light hearted" look at. If you are a wheelchair user, it's better than being a heroin user! Take a fun look at riding along in a wheelchair with the wind in you hair... and the flies in your face. Or... you could face chapped lips and icicles hanging off your nose end. What speeds can you reach, and how man times you knock- over pedestrians- if the stupid buggers will get in your way! Only Joking. Whilst this is a humorous book on everyday life and situations, when appropriate it does see the serious side. It also makes you think more positive, about the way you look at life, and how to cope with life when tines are low. Cry a little (if you must), but remember, LAUGH a lot.
About the Author
I am Jules Thornell, aged 40 something, married with family, and have an overactive imagination, which inspired me to write things down. Writing was done to cope with chronic pain, and depression. Diagnosed over 16 years ago with Multiple Sclerosis, which in itself I manage well with, but over the last few years have dealt with chronic facial pain. I made a bid decision to look at life at a totally different angle. I came to the conclusion that if I just sit back, in pain, it would be a huge mistake and engulf me. So... I became more positive, and now look at life in a more light-hearted way. So that is why I wrote this book of funny situations, tales to tell, and draft thoughts... to share with others... who can also probably relate to. Thanks to my husband for proofreading this short piece of nonsense.
