About the Book

In 10 Seconds a railroad man tells of his life changing memories through devotional stories of true events. Memories of the good times and bad, of highs and lows that have affected the very direction of his life. Beginning as a child raised in rural middle Tennessee in the 1950’s through adulthood as a railroader in Alabama. These stories of people and places tell of lessons learned, actions taken, and the responsibilities that go along with them. Within these pages you will find a child’s curiosity, a mother’s tenderness, and a father’s wisdom. A life of hurts and joys of everyday living that can build a closer relationship with those around us and most of all with God, Himself.

About the Author

Johnny T. Eldridge ( J.T.) was born in a small town in rural middle Tennessee. A place where country music, farming, and front porches were a big deal. Sunday School and Church was a requirement and eating Sunday dinner at Grandma’s with the whole family was the norm.

Graduating high school at seventeen he moved to central Florida to pursue his dream of working on the railroad. At eighteen he “hired-out” as a Locomotive Fireman and by age twenty was a Locomotive Engineer. In 1974 he married his high school sweetheart, Sherry, and started a life together.

From 1973 through 2002 he worked for two major railroads. During his career he worked and traveled over the north, south, and eastern United States. From New York to Miami, Chicago to New Orleans he served in several different positions including Trainmaster, Road Foreman Of Engines, Rules Instructor, and FRA Certified Locomotive Engineer Instructor.

As a member of Huffman Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama he currently serves on the Deacon Council and as Young Adult II Leader in the Sunday School program. In 10 Seconds is his first book.
