About the Book
Evergreen is poetry about life. In this collection, Zachary Williams touches on many subjects of the human experience. At times a social commentary, Evergreen combines poems that reflect the harsh realities of life, with those that leave your senses in awe of the world’s beauty. This dichotomy of life existing outside of our bodies is one that both saddens the soul, yet uplifts it.
The vision of the evergreen tree is one that conjures strength and persistence. A silent monolith, the evergreen is a living entity that bears witness to life in all of its forms - yet still emits a majestic beauty. The quality of the evergreen lends itself to the overall concept of this collection of poems. Evergreen is designed for relaxing and introspective reading. It is the author’s hope that regardless of life’s obstacles, there is always a positive and constant perspective. We just need to find those solutions, which are often in plain sight.
