About the Author

Kathy McWhirter grew up in cities across Canada, eventually settling in the West. Training in Forestry led her to the backwoods of small-town Alberta, where she worked as a volunteer fire fighter for ten years. Later, she worked in Special Education for children with disabilities. Kathy lives in Victoria, BC with her teenaged daughter.
