About the Book

Adam Christopher travels from the near future, when mankind has brought about its' own destruction, to a time 10,000 years ago when mankind is struggling to develop as Homo Sapiens.

Christopher has specific mission objectives and rules which "go to pot" on his first sortie from his craft, Tempus. His story involves a rescue, confrontations, extreme weather, arduous treks, wild animals, sickness, a life threatening problem, capture, rape and a return to living by the old ways.

His narrative gives an insight into his character, how he prefers life 10,000 years ago and the emotional conflicts that develop in his mind. He learns the true nature of his mission upon his return as well as discovering he is to be a father. He compromises his beliefs to protect his baby and partner and escape the modern world he now despises.

This is a story of brutal action, cynicism, humour, emotions and relationships designed to appeal to a much wider audience than pure Sci-Fi enthusiasts. However, there is also a more serious undercurrent behind the story which, hopefully, will provoke thoughts about our future and our past.

About the Author

Brian Poole lives in Taunton, England, not far from Dartmoor where he has spent many happy hours in all weathers and seasons exploring what is now a virtually barren landscape, but was once a rich and diverse habitat.

His travels worldwide have shown him the good and bad of many cultures and he has seen over the years how man's activities are affecting the planet, our home. His strands of thought on mankind and our destructive ways, conservation, our past and our future are drawn together into a story which is designed to appeal to a wider audience than pure Science Fiction.

Tempus is his first book, although a sequel is currently being planned for 2007.
