About the Author

Douglas Daws, was born in Grantham, England, in 1920. Receiving his formal education in Lincoln, and in Cambridge, England. In 1940, he enlisted in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, where he served in various parts of the world, until his discharge in 1946. Married during W/W 2, he and his wife Madge, immigrated to Canada in 1946, locating in Kamloops, B.C.

He and his second wife Margaret, remain in Kamloops, where he enjoyed successful careers with the Federal Government and the City of Kamloops. As a writer of poetry since his early years, he has written prolifically since retirement from the City of Kamloops, where he was Parks Manager. He still maintains productive and pleasurable hours, writing about the world he lives in, particularly about his observations during his walks in the hilly Kamloops countryside.
