About the Book

This book is an uplifting compilation of funeral poetry.

In the Time of Sorrow was created for the intent of providing an emphasis of helpful poetry for the grieving. Whenever you are cloaked in sadness, or are in the midst of bereavement, or lamenting after losing a loved one. There is a poem that would fit your needs, in letting your loved one go peacefully.

This style of poetry isn't easy to find. When you are in low spirits and pressed for time during a funeral. The poems herein will make for a fast yet uplifting funeral program insert. They were written for funeral services to publicly farewell a loved one. Also for those who might find a great read from them. Each poem is heartfelt and inspirational and dedicated to the memory of a loved one.

After experiencing a loved ones passing myself left me aware of how temporary, fragile, and precious life can be. I embarked on writing the compilation to celebrate a life that has come to an untimely end. Each poem will remind us of life, when we reminisce on the years. This entire book is directed to the mourning and is meaningful for the dearly departed.

This compilation will suite your every need and has a focus to help bring closure in the must taken steps of grieving. This is part one of a set of books I have been working on. If you are searching for a funeral poem in a difficult moment, my heart goes out to you and your family with my deepest sympathy and condolence for your loss.

About the Author

Born on April 15, 1980 Raul Moreno was the fourth child in the Moreno family. The family, lived in Gracemont, Oklahoma since the 1960's to current years. Moreno attended Gracemont Public Schools where he graduated in 2001.

At the age of twenty, Moreno, the youngest of the family began to learn the fundamentals of poetry and fell in love with the written word. Largely self-taught, he read voraciously and became acquainted with his primary influences of written works by T.C. Cannon, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, T.S. Elliot, Robert Frost, and the Bible. Upon entering various poetry contests Moreno's work grew immensely.

Moreno's embark into the writing world began in late 2000, penning his first poem entitled Unknown Cause. The poem, which was published by the International Library of Poetry, echoed a niche within his heart. He honed his trail blazing style and continued to write fulltime. In 2003, early in his career, his older brother was summoned for a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Moreno grew into a depression, which he mentions of its' severity and its' difficulty to shoulder due to the common dangers of war.

Believed for his brothers departure, gave rise to the heartsick flow of verse in the years that followed. Due to the depression, Moreno had fallen into an all-time low in his brief writing career. His work had come to a sudden halt and upon his brother's arrival in 2004, Moreno reverted himself back to his roots and focused on his body of work. He published with the International Library of Poetry with the follow up poem entitled Unknown Creation. The absence of writing inspired him to pour his heart onto the page and he stretched his several hundred poems into thousands.

He began writing children's books shortly after his brother's return and with his touch in children's literature he decided to attempt a desired endeavor of tackling a novel. He has been working on a several series of books ever since. In his brief years of writing, he has gathered an enormous body of work. This is his meteoric rise into the world of poetry and literature, by earning the titles; Wordsmith, and the Picasso of Words. There is much to look out for, from Moreno, in the years to come due to the Gracemont anthems that steadily beat within his poetic heart.
