About the Book
A journey through the eyes of an immigrant child, Aurora must flee earth with her parents to the planet Alexys. Aurora is excited and nervous to reach her new home, but upon arriving, she never imagined how out of place she would feel. While Aurora tries to adjust and make friends, the reader too travels with Aurora and sympathizes with what it must be like to be an outsider. At the end, this book connects Aurora's situation with new immigrants' experience upon arriving in the U.S.A. This book is a touching tale that leads to a discussion about immigration, diversity, acceptance, and fitting in.
About the Author
Carey Capistron has a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Elementary Education at Lesley University. This book is Carey's first, which she was inspired to create as part of a project for a social studies class, in her graduate program. Her professor, classmates, family and friends encouraged her to have it published. Carey lives at home with her fiancé Wascal and their two dogs in Millbury, Massachusetts.
