Grieving after the death of her fiancé, Susan arrives in Sitka by boat. Upon hearing of the death of her father, she is assisted by the handsome captain. Given a job by the evil harbor master, she struggles with an unknown culture, difficult circumstances, and lack of money. At times, love enters her life only to disappear, until Joshua, the captain, rescues her.


About the Author

Liz Thomas Melinsky has lived in Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Alaska and Texas. Her life went through different stages in all these states. She was a wife, mother, PTA member, Cub Scout leader, member of many Presbyterian Church Women's groups, and an avocational archeologist among other activities. She has taught public school and worked as a social worker. After retiring she went to Sitka, Alaska, where she served as a Presbytertoan Volunteer in Mission at Sheldon Jackson College for two years. Returning to her home in the Lower 48, she married Mel Melinsky. Her main activities now are needlepoint, volunteering in the archeology lab at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, and her church study groups. Liz says, "Life is good!"
