About the Book

Seg Thouge, a journalist from the planet Guerious, has a contract to write about the Planet Earth. On Earth he goes by the name John Helms.

John is introduced to The Walnuts, a rich, very dysfunctional family, hell bent on having a good time.

The Walnuts comprise of the patriarch, Jeb, a tall, handsome, self made man who tries to keep the rest of the dysfunctional clan in check, but only ends up writing them.

Martha, the matron is a spoiled, beautiful, rich woman and she knows it. Martha is keen on her own pleasures and seldom affords anyone any consideration, unless it suits her own needs. She is a witty, provocative character, who immediately zeros in on John.

Danelle, the youngest daughter, is a beautiful, fun loving, devil may care person, that can't figure out why her life is so chaotic. Farley, a new suitor, is an obnoxious braggart who tries to convince everyone that he is a great entrepreneur, but is currently cleaning pools.

Heather, the teenage granddaughter, is trying to separate herself from the lunacy, but her young age limits her independence.

Ricky, aka, Ricky the Rat, the son, is out to have fun and make a buck. He is intensely self promoting and can't figure out why everyone isn't the same.

The Walnuts befriend John, both Jeb and Heather figuring out he is not from Earth. John and Danelle develop a friendship, but she never believes he is an alien. When John says he must leave, Danelle decides she wants to go with, but John says it's impossible. She accuses him of running out on his friends and says, "prove it!"

Ray and John take Danelle with them for the pick-up. When the giant space ship descends to pick up John, Danelle realizes the truth.

About the Author

His father was a superintendent of golf courses and his family moved to Fargo N. Dak., when Ron was seven. That's where Ron basically grew up and finished high school.

From 1966 to 1968, he served with the USMC in Vietnam as a Scout-Sniper. Ron saw considerable combat and was decorated and wounded more than once.

After the Marines, he had no trouble assimilating back into normal life.

Ron learned to write from designing and building golf courses, race cars, houses and ranches. It taught him to be simple and concise, because he needed to convey his ideas to other people and make them work.

Ron has taken on many different challenges and this has given him a realistic imagination which produces original ideas.

His main endeavor in life has been the golf business, designing and building courses and teaching golf his main sources of income.

Ron has written four additional books.

The Balance Swing, a how to, instructional, golf book.

Timtown, about a kid that finds an alien base that is abandoned, but operational.

Billy Palmer, about a Vietnam Veteran, thirty years after the war.

The Searching Soul, about the first human to die in space.
