About the Book
Borderline Dead is a novel that interconnects the hot topics of drug smuggling, illegal aliens, environmental issues regarding violence and corruption.
Phoenix homicide detective, Eddie Daitch, a kind, yet deeply troubled man, takes early retirement. However, he cannot leave town until after the murder trial of a local gang leader. Once the trial is over, Daitch leaves Phoenix and after a three year journey to heal his emotional wounds, ends up living in the colorful and quirky old mining town of Bisbee, Arizona on the Mexican border.
He begins a new life where he meets Perri Wooten and avid environmentalist and activist for undocumented alien causes. After time, he gives himself permission to begin caring for Perri and her adopted son Carlos.
The relationship deepens but it’s not without turmoil. Perri appears to become the target of an escalating chain of sadistic and violent criminal acts believed to be orchestrated by a land developer.
As the stakes get higher, Eddie Daitch is stunned to learn from a voice out of his past, Perri is not the target. He is the one in the cross hairs. Daitch starts to think the unthinkable. For a decent, good man, he now constructs an intricate plan of revenge that allows him to cross all geographic, legal and moral borders.
