About the Book

These poems follow the life of a woman from her childhood and immigrant background to her life in New York City as actress and writer, her spiritual quest, her marriage and the birth of three daughters, her trips, her observations on America and the natural world, her divorce, living alone, and all the suffering and joy that living a life can bring.

About the Author

Shirley Latessa lives and writes in New York City. She has written song lyrics, plays, the book and lyrics for a musical, novels, and poems galore. She has also co-edited two books of nonfiction. Summing Up is her first published book of poetry. In addition she has written six novels: Eighteen Days Till Home; Dancing in the Fire; and a quartet of fantasy books: Auragole of the Mountains, Auragole of the Way, Auragole of Mattelmead, and Auragole and the Last Battle.
