"Unfortunately, NOBODY is to be outside their cottages after dark." echoed Principle Hartford again. "Why?" said a student in the crowd. To this the principle stared down the group with a serious face. "Because of the recent Vieniem attacks." responded Hartford. Zack and Aliza looked at each other with fear. The principal continued. "I will call everyone up by name and you will be presented with your crystal and marriage mate. You are officially married after you are paired, but a wedding is not necessary. Your mate will be chosen. If you already have someone in mind please say after your crystal is presented to you." said the principal. The principal was handed a large book by another teacher and opened it. "Zack Guideheart." declared the principal. "That's me." said Zack. Aliza watched him go up on the stage, and saw the principal hand him a gold box. Zack opened the gold box with a smile and slid on a gold chain with a red crystal attached. "Transform." said the Principal. Suddenly, Zack's form completely changed before Aliza's eyes. Aliza's mouth hung open in amazement. Zack was four times larger with fur all over him, added with a tail. His face was cat-like, and his hands and feet had huge black claws. Instead, of a werewolf he was a were cat. All new comers awed in amazement. "Nice." thought Aliza. "Now...do you already have a person you wish to have as a marriage mate?" asked the Principle. "Yes." said Zack. "Then please introduce her." said the principle. Zack gestured to Aliza to come up on the stage. Then Aliza blushed and came up on the stage. Once she walked next to Zack everything became quite and everyone stared at Aliza. Aliza looked at Zack confused and he just shrugged his shoulders. "Is it her?" asked the teacher next to the Principle. "I...it...it is." he said. "Isn't she the chosen one?" called a student.

About the Book
Decades ago, two vastly different races of aliens lived on planet Lempton. The Lemptions were peaceful creatures that lived in beautiful valleys, but the Vieniems were evil and hateful and perched in caves. After their planet is destroyed, the two species begin a brutal battle and soon realize that the only safe refuge for the survivors is to settle on Earth. As they secretly coexist with humans and each other, they anxiously await the day when a hero will emerge to bring peace between the two races. Aliza just wants to skip school. Relentlessly teased by the other children about her fair skin, white hair, and furry ears, Aliza has no idea who she really is until she steps on the school bus one morning and encounters a fellow Lemp. As Zack leads Aliza off the bus and on to a journey to a new life, Aliza is soon told that she has special powers. Unbeknownst to her, Aliza is the Chosen One—the person who must defeat the evil aliens once and for all. When the Vieniems suddenly strike again, Aliza must rely on her newfound powers as she begins a fierce battle of wills with a leader bent on destroying her race forever.

E. A. Anderson was born in California and moved to Illinois with her family when she was very young. She currently lives in Park Forest, Illinois, with her family. She enjoys writing and spending time with her family. This is her first book.
