Hammer turned 78 Bravo toward the “final” using a bush traffic pattern and lined up the airplane about the center of the runway. He applied a bit of left aileron into the wind and left rudder; a forward slip to maintain position to the runway. A last glance, he judged the white caps and water spray for wind direction and velocity. “Must be a little over twenty and off the nose to the left”, was his best guess. The air was a little choppy. Reducing power and adding flaps, he slowed the plane down for a nice soft touchdown on the left wheel first, then the right. The landing was perfect and Hammer back taxied 78B to the turn-around on the North East side of the runway, then shutting down the engines.

And the stakes grow larger when cell members threaten Hammer’s family. Vowing retribution, Carpenter and Bill hatch a plan to track down the terrorists and exact revenge. They do not know that they face Toni Larucci, one of the most ruthless terrorists within al Qaeda.
About the Author
Dana L. Coy, a Washington State native, is a graduate of the Washington public and private school system. He has worked as a teacher and a commercial bush pilot in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Coy lives near Mount Ranier in Washington.
