CONSCIOUSNESS “Why do people need this knowledge of the universe, Guruji?” asked the disciple, “and how will this knowledge help a person decide what kind of path to follow?” “If you are traveling down the road or pathway but there are no exits or signs you could end up going on and on without having any idea where you are going. However if you are traveling on a road where the proper signs are posted you will know exactly where you are going and you will reach your destination. So also in life if you do not know where you are and where to stop or exit on the path of life, you will get lost right?” the Divine Teacher inquired. “How does the Signs on the road help the traveler on the road find his destination and know where to exit or not?” “Consciousness my dear boy!” the Teacher replied. In this case the consciousness of another person (the sign maker or Guide) has helped to raise the consciousness of the traveler to a higher level by placing signs along the way so that he can have the knowledge of where to exit or not. As you can see, the prospective of the traveler on a path will change when another person with a higher knowledge has intervened. He is known as the Guru or Guide.” “Can the road we travel on be compared to our road of life from birth to death?” the student asked. “Absolutely. All your choices and experiences in your life are the entrances and exits on the (road) path of your life,” the Teacher responded. The student thought deeply for a moment, and then asked, “Can you be the teacher of my life path, Oh Guru?” PREFACE “Life has an equation?” asked the Disciple. “Yes, my dear child” answered the Guru calmly. “Are you saying that I can actually calculate life, like I do in a mathematical equation?” asked the devoted student of the Guru once again, his eyes focused fully at the Divine Teacher. “Precisely, my dear devote,” said the Guru continuing, “There is a balance in the Universe and when the equilibrium or scale of balance is disturbed then an equation is formed to correct the balance, similar to your math equation in Algebra. Where a balanced condition writes as A + B = 0, which places both sides in a balance scale.” “Is that the same as karma?” asked the curious devotee. “Yes. You can say that. Karma is simply “Action = Reaction” which is the quality of all mathematical equations and still represents the fact that all things must exist in a scale of equilibrium in the universe.” “When this scale of equilibrium is disturbed, then the universe reacts in a negative or positive way, right?” the student inquired. “ Correct, then it results in an unbalanced equation of life above or below zero or created reality?” said the Guru as he continues, “Everything is in the balanced scale and the zero now become a 1, or 2 etc., for example if A + B = C and B changes so will C.” “So you are saying that if I know the action I can predict the reaction side of the equation right Guruji?” retorted the Disciple. “Isn’t that exactly what Sir Isaac Newton did, when he came up with the Law of Motions?” “Correct…” answered the Guru. “Yes, but how can we apply the Equation principle to karma and our life?” asked the student. “Well, let us say that everything has a beginning and end, do you agree?” asked the Guru. “Yes, I do.” “Well if you add birth + death you will get a balanced state of zero, wouldn’t you. If you take the beginning of a string and add it to the end of a string does not the circle become a zero?” the Guru inquired. “Yes, and I suppose if the circle is cut at any point then we have a value of 1 again where one end becomes A and the other B. Now we have a beginning and an ending and many divisions in between.” “Absolutely correct my dear student.
