About the Author
Farman Yusufzai (full name: Farmanullah Khan Yusufzai) was born in undivided India in 1925. He graduated from the University of Lucknow. Al partition Ihe family migrated to Pakistan. He took his Master's Degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Lahore. He taught English at colleges in Rawalpindi and Karachi and was an active member of the Pakistan Writers' Guild. He came to London in 1965 and for a while worked for a research degree In English Literature at Ihe Birkbeck College. University of London, while teaching at a High School. He obtained the Diploma in Educational Guidance from the University of Reading in 1972. In 1987 his services were transferred to a language project. Farman Yusufzai retired two years ago and has since been teaching English as a part-lime lecturer al a local college. Besides English poetry. Farman Yusufzai also writes poetry In Urdu. A collection of his Urdu ghazals was published in 1987. So far as we know he is the only poet, past or present, who has published original poetry In both English and Urdu (not translations) In book form. At present Farman Yusufzai is working on two collections of his aphorisms, one In English and the other in Urdu. After Ihe publication of these works he intends to devote more time to his literary and philosophical group, the 'All-Incluslve Understanding Circle'.
