Colonel Seibert had an incredible career spanning 32 years, and his accounts of combat, heroism, and day to day life in the military are great reading for all. The details of the friendships made, the inner politics and leadership issues, are an insightful and interesting narrative of military life. His assignments in the Pacific, Korea, the Pentagon, Ft. Hood, Germany, Vietnam, take the reader to places and activities that few have witnessed. Although written at the end of his military career, as a tribute to the Regulars of the Armed Forces of the United States, of which he proudly served, one can't help but feel the pride that this highly decorated veteran, who served with distinction, felt as he climbed the hierarchy of the military.


About the Author

Donald Seibert was a 32 year veteran of the Army, graduating from New York University and from George Washington University, where he earned a Master's degree in international affairs. Serving as an Infantry Platoon Leader in WWII, a Rifle Company Commander in Korea, and finally in Vietnam, earning the Combat Infantry Badge in each conflict, placing him in an elite group of less then 300 men who have earned the Third Award of the Combat Infantry Badge. During his career Col. Seibert was awarded the Silver Star on two occasions, the Legion of Merit with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, and other awards for valor and merit. He was qualified as a Master Parachutist and a Ranger.
