About the Book

“There is naught that causes the heart to cry out like the ecstasy of love or the agony of sorrow. In these verses and meditations are poured out the soul and spirit, the body and mind, of the author as he draws from the fountains of life, and reveals within these pages, a plethora of emotions which are only found in the depths of the deepest caverns of the soul. Between the confines of the ecstasy and the agony, the author encounters intervals of restful solitude and blissful introspection which allow him to contemplate the often contradictory vicissitudes of life as it wends its troubled journey towards the infinite. And there the author invites us to share the voices of his soul; voices which speak of joy and sorrow, life and death; verses and meditations; the voices of the soul.”
—Rev. Dr. John S. Weekes

Voices of My Soul contains sonnets written for the most part from experiences of the author’s own heart. The meditations and other poems that he has included here are the results of riper years written from the experience of living on three continents and over half a dozen countries before finally settling in the United States.

About the Author

Prince John Chaber is very versatile personality who combines with exquisite completeness his skills as a romantic poet, writer, lawyer and theologian. His fondness for Elizabethan literature afforded him the perfect diversion at a time when he was reading for the English Bar. Most of his sonnets were written during the period of the twenty four years he practiced at the Bar. Responding to the call of God on his life, he left the Bar and entered Seminary where he obtained Doctoral degrees in Theology and Religious Education. It is his unfailing dedication to God that when struck with the personal tragedy occasioned by the sudden death of his beloved wife Elsa, inspired Voices of the Soul, which are dedicated to her memory. May she rest in peace.
