About the Book
The Serpent of War is a novel about a young Jewish graduate of the University of Chicago who while serving as a crew member of a bomber flying missions over Germany developed doubts about the ethics of bombing city center and killing innocent civilians. He believed a just war must not be fought unjustly and eventually refused to fly missions if the target was simply a "city center".
About the Author
The author is a retired educator with degrees in history and theology. During World War Two he served as a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress and participated in twenty five bombing missions over Germany.
