About the Author

Having spent a half century in the education field, I have had extensive opportunities to listen and I have been listening mor or less effectively for, at least, that period of time, on and off. Listening is a challenge with all the opportunities to listen with bias being the underlying driver. With degrees in math and science, educational leadership, and counseling I have some credibility when I say listening is both a science and an art. I enjoy listening and recognize the opportunities that may present themselves when listening is accomplished with many of the impactors recognized. Now that my five daughters are proving themselves to be strong and productive adults, I have the opportunity, actually, the responsibility, to share my accumulation of knowledge and my listening experience with others. That responsibility was met through the assimilating of this document. Presently I live in a mid-sized midwesten city and spent lots of time coming to grips with my role in the cosmos. I cannot seem to get away from education. In addition to this document, I participate in activities which enhance myself and others. Teaching and learning are integral to those participations.
