My FIRST Day of SCHOOL

About the Book

This is a short children’s story about one child’s first day of school. It is written in a rhyming format and is meant to be read to the child before the first day of school. It is meant to ease the nervousness that comes along with the new experience of starting school.

About the Author

This book was written by a very dedicated elementary school teacher whose name was Janine Hamel Lettera. Some time back, while cleaning out Janine’s desk, this story about a child’s first day of school was found. Although Janine is no longer with us, her story about a child’s first day of school is something she left behind for all young children to read. It is actually her own experience on her first day of school. We hope that children everywhere will start school with a little more confidence after reading Janine’s story.
