About the Book

Sunny Yang's work is a collection of military life captured while being deployed with his unit for one year. It reflects his superb command of technique, style and intensity. About the Author

Sunny Yang was born and raised in the ancient city of Nanjing where his passion for art developed his natural ability to recreate life through art. At 6 years of age, he composed realistic images of people, places and landscapes. His sketches caught the attention of school officials who later chose him to represent China in a prominent art show featuring gifted children. At 17, Sunny saw his first art work published in a popular games and recreation magazine. Later on, government officials recognized his work and commissioned him to create a logo for a special government security unit. He created a heraldic icon symbolic of national pride, dedication, honor and peace that was proudly worn on police uniforms throughout his native country. Sunny is an athletic professional who has perfected his love for rock climbing, Sanshou and Pilates. He has been a fitness instructor for many years and taught classes such as yoga and modern climbing often called bouldering. Sunny sees life as a beautiful experience full of surprises. His art work reflects this sentimenet with every image. He enlisted in the United States Army in September of 2007 and is currently attached to the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 7th Battalion at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
