About the Book

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire and the beauty of the evergreen tree have long established their iconic place in yuletide lyrics. While they help to enkindle the materialistic aspects of the holiday, one cannot help but wonder what has happened to the divine proclamation, ‘Glory to God in the Highest, Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men’? Given rise to the ever increasing global turmoil, it seems that these latter ingredients have drastically diminished, thus altering the true meaning of Christmas within ourselves. Weaving spirituality, humor, intelligence, insight - - and most of all love into the fabric of human experience, the author has written an anthology of short stories that embrace the true essence of Christmas. No matter what your age, if you love Christmas you will love Christmas Pie.

About the Author

Agnes Geraldine Davis began writing in elementary school where she participated in scholastic writing competitions. However, it wasn’t until she attended Indiana University, South Bend, Indiana, that her propensity for writing came full circle. As an honors student, her literature courses focused heavily on European authors which, she feels, reignited her desire to write. Upon relocating to New York City, she penned articles for a woman’s Zionist organization. Her articles appeared periodically both nationally and internationally in their newsletters and chapter bulletins. In the autumn of 2006, the author was featured on New York television, wherein she read several of her stories from Christmas Pie answering questions concerning characterization and themes. The interview was televised on Christmas day in New York, London and Bangladesh. As a child, she studied classical piano and in her teen years, she became the parish organist. She enjoys music, theatre, culinary arts, animals, ‘hiking’ around New York City and is a student of meditation and the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Currently Ms. Davis works for the New York City Department of Education wherein she assists teachers with special education students. She resides in Queens, New York with her four feline mascots, Rusalka, Socretes, Samson and Delilah- and a Moluccan Cockatoo named Sydney.
