"It was a hot and sunny Friday afternoon in Phoenix Arizona. Fear hung in the air as everyone was outside when something horrible happened. What caused everyone to come outside, you’re probably wondering. Well, I will tell you. There was the bloodcurdling scream and horrifying words of a 16 year old girl. She was calling for help in a very painful and agonizing way, as if she was put in an iron maiden and left there to be impaled. Even worse, she was screaming as though she was being quartered; having her limbs torn in four directions. Soon, after the scream, there were police and ambulances swarming like flies, heading for the location of the scream. Dogs were barking as if they had gone mad and car alarms were thundering like nothing ever before heard. Everything had happened so fast that it was a confusing blur. There was a strange figure straggling away into a near by forest. There were flashes of colorful, blinding lights, and a strong, hot, moldy breeze began to blow. It blew like a ferocious tempest, swaying the trees this way and that. They swayed back and forth reluctantly as if they were scared of what was causing the wind. Then, something shaped like a Frisbee emerged in a hovering fashion and zoomed to the north in the blink of an eye. Collin and his friends knew “IT” would be back, and when it returned, Collin would kill it summarily and mercilessly for what it put him and his friends through. Although, they had something much more pressing to worry about. Their friend, Tyulie, was slightly contorted and slowly bleeding a puddle of blood. She was half dead since the scream that she had called took most of her energy, and because she was heavily lacerated and bleeding. Around her, the smell of metal and salt hung in the air. If she was not rushed to a Hospital, and fast, she was going to die… Oh, but I am jumping the gun. All of this comes later. Now, let’s go back to the beginning, shall we?" -from An Unearthly Encounter
"“Wine?” Kuro questioned, eyeing the goblet Aiden sipped from as he watched her. Something dark seemed to cloud his mind and show through his beautiful and thoughtful eyes. Something dangerous. His expression lightened when he drained his “wine” and began to speak." -from Sunlight in the Darkness of a Vampire's Heart.
