About the Author

Nova Koontz Markovics The author was born in a small farm community in Monticello, Ky. She graduated from Wayne County High School in Monticello. She attended Bacone College, Bacone, Oklahoma, before transferring to Northeastern State College at Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she received her B.A. degree and her Master’s degree in English. She taught school in Muskogee, Oklahoma, before moving to Independence, Missouri. She has taught at Jim Bridger Junior High, William Chrisman Junior High, and is now at Palmer Junior High. Her life is very private and very quiet. Many friends say her writings are filled with pain and remorse. She feels today that most people do not see reality as she does. This may come from two facets of her life: first, the death of her parents at an early age, and her love for the author, Ernest Hemingway. Death is the final event in life, death seems to surround heron all sides. She often tells people that you have to accept the bad as well as the good. To see her she appears as a happy–go–lucky lady dancing her way through life, but to read her book one sees that she could very well be the “rebel” or the “romantic”. Very few people ever see the true person, the “realist”. This book is not meant to be read with sadness, nor to be lightly tossed aside with no moral: it is simply a collection of writings over a period of years that says; “If you can not accept reality as it is then you will have problems that will only lead to physical destruction – so parents teach your children well: Good versus Bad, but with one thought that with Hope you can make it.”
