Giovanni is a boy who with his family, comes to America on October 13, 1964 on a ship that left the shores of Italy and the name of the ship was S.S. Cristoforo Colombo. The voyage was Long and Brutal it was a first for Giovanni never been on a ship or boat he suffered with being nocuous and constantly throwing up after eating each time, it was not a fun time for Giovanni. Finally arriving in the New York Harbor Giovanni noticed that everyone and his father went outside on the ship’s deck.

This is a story of a boy and his best friend who happpens to be a dog he finds as a puppy together they grow and become close friends. They help each other and others they become indespensible.
About the Author
The author wrote this book which incapsulates some of the stories of his childhood growing up in Brooklyn, NY. The strugles that he and his family had imagrated to a new country and learning to adapt. The story is both Fiction & Non Fiction because it tells things that happened to author as well with added stories with the Dog.
