Why Only Islam

Never before has a book like Why Only Islam been so poignant and thought-provoking, as Islam is being spread around the globe among people from all walks-of-life through the sword-of-intellect and wisdom. The book focuses on altering the attitudes-of-mind for achieving excellence in facilitating proper-education to eradicate illiteracy, the root cause of most problems in the world today. It also emphasizes the need for fellow human beings to coexist peacefully and to guide-the-misguided, in our quest to tactfully and proactively outsmart the enemies of Peace (Islam).

This book, as Author Syed H. Jaffar’s, Dr. Payam Azmi’s, and Ayatollah M. Mutahhari’s enticing thoughts and concerns, elucidates the strengths-of-Allah’s eminent creation ─human beings, but also points out our frailties. It also examines human endeavour in the development-of-societies and nations on our beautiful blue planet Earth.

While praising the religious oratory by some true learned men, the book warns about other unacceptable oratory on both sides of the fence; they in essence can be classified as the enemies of Peace (Islam). Martyr Ayatollah M. Mutahhari called them: “The religion-less and religious-illiterate orators.” Dr. Payam Azmi and Dr. Kalbe Sadiq caution us about these trouble-making so-called religious gurus as “The crowed pleasers who are subservient to their monetary income.” In addition, while admiring a tiny but wealthy and influential group’s highest achievements through education, the book warns about its mis-guided and strayed-leadership’s passive-aggressive brainwashing tactics that maneuver the superpowers as chess-pawns; hence, for all intents and purposes, it rules the world.

The book also cautions the upcoming future-powers (e.g. China and India) to be aware of the cunning-diplomacy of some foreign powerful intelligence forces.

The 412-page/6″x9″ book is neither an earth-shattering discovery nor a prophetic-revelation for sharing the belief that Islam is a logical disposition-of thought, knowledge, and realities. It is the religion-of-freedom and human-spirit, and its most practical-guidelines are in the (Qur′an with Allah’s divine-words-of mercy/wisdom/justice. Imam Ali’s Nahjul Balagha (Peak-of-Eloquence that contains great sermons/sayings/letters) states: “... Praise is to Allah who established Islam and made it easy for those who approach it, and gave strength to its columns against any one who tries to overpower it. Islam is the brightest-of-all paths, the clearest-of-all passages.”

Dr. Michael H. Hart, Jewish-American-Astrophysicist, asserted that [Islam’s] Muhammad was by far the-most-successful and influential among the top-100-men in history, in both the religious and secular realms. Islam’s greatness has also been acknowledged by other non-Muslim scholars-intellectuals-writers like: G. Bernard-Shaw; Alphonso deLaMartin; Thomas Carlyle; Dr. Sir TW-Arnold; Napoleon Bonaparte; HG-Wells; and Mahatma MK-Gandhi who once said: “There is no way to peace; Peace [Islam] is the Way.”

Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the West. Among those who have embraced Islam over the years are many highly-professional and famous Americans/Europeans like: Lord/Baron Headley al-Farooq; Qur’an’s English-language-translator Mohammed- Marmaduke Pickthall; Swiss-Writer Isabelle-Eberhardt; “The-Greatest” Boxer Muhammad-Ali; US-Basketball’s MVP Karim Abdul-Jabbar; and a long-time family friend Dr. William-Raschid Bond. More recent embracers-of-Islam are: the former-British-PM Tony Blair’s sister-in-law, Lauren-Booth ─broadcaster-journalist; a British Sports-Coach David-John; and Edoardo-Mahdi Agnelli, an Italian multi-billionaire industrialist’s only son. The last-three had found Peace (Islam) in Iran during their soul-searching trips to find the Right-Path.

The challenging-but-worthwhile assignment-of-writing this book is to share the notion that true-heroism means winning Peace (Islam), not wars. It is aiming for action today by just-and-righteous people to initiate and work on a long-term tactful strategy that will shape the future for all, particularly for future generations.

These are the essential ingredients-of-success for stopping human suffering that blows me hither-and-thither to the verge-of-mental-pain and hopelessness for the people-of-our Islamic-world and beyond. I say beyond the Islamic-world because, despite the envious American-Dream (now trembling), it includes 43.6 million U.S. citizens who are living below the poverty-line ─illiteracy and capitalism being the root causes. The ills of the capitalist-system ─needing drastic refinements─ have made 1%-of-the-people accumulate more wealth than the rest-of-the-world’s combined fortune.

The book also provides an English language translation of Dr. Payam Azmi’s inspirational Urdu language book “Islam-hee-Kyon”. The extraordinary work by Azmi very effectively supports the Islamic beliefs, its values, strengths, and guidelines, as well as an unshakable conviction that it is the summation and culmination of all the religions and all of Allah’s Messengers. Azmi very effectively highlights the divine book ─The Qur′an, the truth (sadaqat) about Islam, and Islam′s many well-based realities in his classic work on: “Islamic facts with instructional doors of knowledge.”

Furthermore and in support of his book′s title ─Why Only Islam, Azmi points out that Islam neither asks us to follow the hereditary-faith blindly, nor does it put any weight on the cultural and traditional practices to be a true Muslim. The Islamic faith, he says, is considered true only if it is acquired through our intellect (aq′l), wisdom (hikmat), knowledge (ilm), and understanding. The Holy Qur′an (the complete-guidelines about life, laws, and rules) has placed great importance on using our intellect and the thought process above anything else. Intellect, as the scholars point out, is the lamp whose oil which it runs upon is knowledge.

Therefore, any deed is considered worthwhile only if it follows the original Hadith (Legacy-of-reports, sayings and deeds) and the Qur’an that has been provided by our Creator, Lord, and Master ─Allah (swt). The Holy Qur’an has been passed on to us through Allah’s final Messenger ─Prophet Muhammad (saw).

The people of the world have also been guided by Prophet Muhammad’s most distinguished lieutenants and Islam’s Fourteen-Masumeen (The-Infallible): Muhammad (saw); Fatima Zahra (sa); and the twelve al-Ithna al-Ashariyya Imams. As is believed by hundreds-of-millions of Muslims, the twelfth-Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Mahdi’s Divinely-Ordained-Occultation (Ghaebul) will end together with Jesus Christ ─Isa (as) before the Day-of-Judgment, in order to fulfill their mission-of-bringing Peace (Islam) and justice to the world. Today, Azmi concludes, Islam has been separated from the battles-of-life; only traditions are battling traditions.
