Come to me In the morn… When the sun peeks through the billowy clouds… As the birds begin their flight to the skies… And the last dewdrops have trickled away… And a new day has come forth… Come to me… In midday… When the sun is in its full golden splendor… As each life is stirred from slumber and is awake… And the world is abuzz with frantic motion… And things have taken shape and form… Come to me… At night… When the sun has retreated to the west… As the moon gleams threateningly in the darkened horizon… And everything has begun its descent to quiet repose… And all is calm and nothing stirs… Come to me then… During the storm… When you are cold and forlorn… As each punishing drop of rain falls on your trembling feet… And everything around seems bleak… And there is nowhere for you to run… Come to me and find shelter… When you cry… When your world has taken a steep path… As each door closes and each window shuts… And life seemingly offers no more reasons to be… And you are at the end of your journey… Come to me and let us begin… When you are ready… When you have sought every beckoning dream… As each life you wished for, you have lived… And all the loves in your past are now a memory… And there is no more hurt that you nurture… Come to me and be home…

About the Book
This book is a collection of poems Rachel Bernard has written in the last 25 years. The poems depict the highs, lows and conflicting temperaments of those years. The many individuals she has met and interacted with through the years inspired these pieces. “I want to acknowledge the random, hapless, senseless condition of a heart in love…a state equally tumultuous and chaotic as it is serene and secure in the notion that there is a heart loving it back. In love, the highs and peaks are rivaled by the pits and valleys. There is equal magnificence in the brilliance of love and the darkness of despair.”
About the Author
Rachel Bernard lives in Southern California and is a full-fledged romantic who believes in having it all, the passion and the pain--love exhausting as it is sustaining. She credits her father for her fascination with writing and language while persistence and drive are values from her mother.
