Bellaire and Billy

Scooping the soil out took several days and we ended up with a huge pile of dirt about ten feet tall in our side yard. Now what in the hell was he going to do with that? It didn’t take long to find out as I braced myself for yet another “lesson”!!!

“Billy”, he said, “we now have to move this sand out to the farm”!!! Really!! I knew he wouldn’t just let me stand there and watch him work by himself forever. Problem – big pile of sand. Solution – big flat bed stake truck and two “idiot ticks” (shovels). One for dad, and one for ”Billy Boy”. Do you have any idea how many evenings under the light of the moon it took us to shovel all that sand into that stupid truck, cart it out to the farm and then shovel it out of the truck again?? It took for—e—v—e-r! It wasn’t all that bad, though, there were some benefits. Over the next few months, I grew 2 inches taller, gained 4 or 5 inches on my biceps and legs, and several inches of muscle between my ears.
