“Mommy? What’s a smartass?” “An intelligent donkey.” Elaina answered without hesitation causing Julie to choke on her apple juice while Tricia crossed her arms. “No profanity in front of Daisy you guys.” “Mommy, Julie and Ellie are girls.” Daisy corrected making Elaina laugh hysterically as Julie picked Daisy up. “Yeah, Aunt Tricia. We’re girls not guys.” Elaina snorted seeing Tricia sigh and smile. “Watch the profanity please?” “You got it. Come on Jules, time to ride the short bus.” Elaina said as Julie went to drink only to cough into her juice. “Stop making Julie laugh while she’s drinking. She’s not going to be able to do anything.” Tricia said seriously so Elaina murmured something to Daisy. “That’s what he said.” Daisy repeated causing Julie to howl with laughter. “ELAINA!” “That’s what he said!” Daisy said again as Torrin and Talon watched the girls laugh while Tricia look displeased. “Oh no sweetie, that’s not what he said.” “Bite me Jules.” Elaina shot back causing Julie to shake her head. “Sorry Elaina, you kind of aren’t my type.” “Stop being disgusting.” Elaina said after covering Daisy’s ears. “Really? In front of a four year old?” “Oops.” Julie snorted before Elaina grabbed her backpack and headed to the door with the others behind her. “So are you going to homecoming?” “Ha, no.” “Awe, why not?” Julie asked as they waited for the bus. “I’m not going to the Homecoming dance Julie, I can’t even stand…let alone dance. I’m not going to pop wheelies in my wheelchair either.”

About the Book
Eighteen-year-old Elaina lives her life in a wheelchair—paralyzed from the waist down after a car accident when she was four. Her daily routine seems pretty typical of a teenager until she is bitten on the neck by her homecoming date—sending her spiraling into darkness. As she slowly wakes up, Elaina finds herself surrounded by a pack of unruly and annoying werewolves, but she temporarily casts her fears aside when she makes an even more amazing discovery—she has the ability to move her legs again! Unfortunately her joy is short-lived when she tells the werewolves she wants to go home to her family and realizes they will do anything to stop her. But when she meets Fury, a handsome rogue, he makes her consider how easy life could be if she just agrees to the pack laws and takes him as a partner. So begins Elaina’s complicated journey to the truth. With the help of her friends and her new pack, she soon discovers that all choices are not easy—and some are virtually deadly.

Margaret Yoder attends West Virginia University with a double major in Chinese and International Studies and a double minor in Japanese and English. She has been writing since she was eleven, when she first published her poetry in a local newspaper. She currently resides in Morgantown, West Virginia.
