Chapter 1 How everything began Rio the Janeiro, December 18th 1992. It was coming the so waited moment. I was going to get married, build up a family. I was very happy! At 26 years old, I was getting ready for a new life. I was a public employer; the middle son in my family… I had big projects; and big dreams. Yet, in my heart burned a hope that something would happen and change, completely, my story. In my mind there was a vague memory that, somebody, somewhere, had brought a word from God to my heart. Yes! A promise from God, those, when we receive, we laugh inside. That’s right; it was like this with me. Somebody said: Hey, you! -Me? -Yes, you! -God tells you that you will travel a lot and that He has a great work to do in your life. Don’t be afraid, the Lord is with you. I thought ‘this prophet is kidding. I don’t have money to go to São Paulo, how can I travel a lot. The years passed by….now I had got married, I saw myself near the so dreamed holiday of 6 months, which I deserved for being a public official. We prayed a lot that time. We wanted God changed our lives. There was a friend who lived in the United States and, he now and then, would invite us to go there. Then, after many prayers, we got courage and… We went off. -Let’s go! We can’t delay! We have to arrive on time! -Lord blesses us. Let your will be done! In front of the consul -What do you intend to do there? -We’re going to visit! -What do you do? -I’m a public employer. -How long? -For 12 years. -Ok! Approved! Leaving the consulate -I don’t believe …. We’re going! We’re going! In a new country -It’s wonderful living here! Everything is so different… the people, the culture… love! We’ve got to be here! -That’s right, I also think like you, and I believe that this is God’s will for our lives. I’ll go back to resign. Back to Brazil -How can I help you? -Sir, I don’t want to work here anymore. I want to quit. I’ve decided to live in the USA. -Are you crazy? Are you going to lose a career of twelve years for nothing? What are you doing with your life man? -Sir, I’m sure of what I’m doing. You’re going to regret! Don’t do this! -Sir, it’s already decided. I won’t change my mind! It’s ok! If it is what you want… I hope you don’t regret. To the USA -Passport! -Here it is. -I can see that you’ve just returned to your country. What do you want here again? -I came to visit! -Have you come to visit? -Yes! The silence of the person who was behind the balcony was endless. The person looked at the passport and looked at me. Those were decisive moments; the seconds seemed hours. They didn’t want to let me in. My mind simmered that time. I thought about the sergeant and what he’d told me ‘I hope you don’t regret!’ the words of prayers came and, sometimes, whispered: -Lord, help me! I know you are with me! I depend on you. Only you have power to make me to enter again! I don’t have another God besides you. My mother-in-law (who is late now) was with me. I thought: “get out from in front of me Satan! Because what God has to do in my life is great!” -Ok! You’ll be able to stay only a month. “Praise the lord!’ I thought. It was all that I needed. I only wanted to enter again

About the Book
Introduction When God, through the Holy Spirit, spoke in my heart to write this book, I hesitated a lot, since I thought that I was not a celebrity for somebody would be interested in ‘my story’. It was when I understood that what had happened with me was not “my story”, but, the manifestation of God’s power, the real proof that He operated in the past and still operating until today. In God there is no change no variation of power, because He still being the same and doesn’t need celebrities, but men who aren’t celebrities to confuse those who are. Yes, to confuse the minds of those who only believe in the logic, in what they can see; touch or obtain. God chooses us, who formerly were the scoria of the world, abandoned, rejected, despised by men, however, put aside, washed, redeemed and chosen by him, so that , in us his name would be glorified, adored and exalted forever; eternally. Amen! Hallelujah! Glory to God! There for, I ask you to read this book with an opened heart and with attentive ears, because I believe that God has already started to write a new story in your life. Do not be centralized in me or in the fact that these miracles happened to me, but, in god’s power, since he doesn’t have favorite child, and, He is powerful to make in each and every life, infinitely move. Marcio Oliveira, Brazilian, married to Rozana. Bachelor of the Arts in Theology, and mastering in Pastoral Psychology. His first work was Brazilian, in 2009, a DVD in 2010, and now an English version of his book, "I Will Not Give Up." Currently lives in the US, more than ten years. Lives in Somerset, MA.
