Enchanting Starlight

Tiptoeing through a cold water creek, Violet stubbed her toe. Bracing herself on one leg, she quickly sat down. In the twilight, she saw the blood trickling down her toe. Grabbing a nearby leaf, she put it on her toe to stop the bleeding. The noise of chattering animals echoed throughout the creek. Violet felt a swift chill as the winds made their way into the meadow. The stars were shimmering brightly as the night sky began to darken. Suddenly she heard a noise behind her and her heart began to race. Silently listening, a few seconds went by and then a squirrel jumped up on the tree behind her. Violet let out a deep sigh of relief. Looking up at all of stars in sight, she began to remember her grandfather’s tale of the three magical stars. When Violet was just a little girl, her grandfather would tell her a tale before bedtime of three very special magical stars. “How do you know which one is which? All of the stars look the same to me grandpa?” Violet asked her grandfather.
