"In 2010 the 25 year old Colorado native self-published her first book "I Wish", a book she began in her high school Art class at Brighton High School when she was just 16 years old! A year later she began "I See" to continue the series. Marina's books appeal to a wide range of readers. Although written as children's books, adults will relate to their positive messages, as well as the vivid illustrations. They are wonderful books for families to share.
Marina creates her whimsical illustrations using a very unique mosaic process. She cuts tiny squares of color from the pages of her favorite magazines and pastes them onto free handed drawings to create a texturized, almost 3D image. The only thing not done by hand is the computer generated background color for each page!
Marina aspires to continue her series as the years go on and hopes to touch the hearts of many with her earnest words and original art work. Marina also enjoys other art mediums including glass fusing, painting, photography, mixed media and jewelry making. She currently resides in Brighton, Colorado with her long-haired cat Kiki, and Pembroke Welsh Corgi Addie, who both make cameos in the pages of her book! "
