About the Author

Keith Tyrone Bush was born on May 7, 1957, in Bridgeport, CT. He spent his formative years in Bridgeport, CT and Bellport, NY up until the age of 17. While living in Bellport, Keith was arrested and convicted for a crime he did not commit. He spent 32 painful years in prison before being released in March 2007.

Uncle Keith (as widely known to all family members and friends) entered the prison system poorly educated and unsophisticated. While in prison, he advanced his education level and developed himself into a positive role model. In a little over four years after his release, his social adjustment is rated excellent as he continues to make positive strives in transition from prison to community life. He is respected and highly appreciated amongst his family and friends for his positive influence and service.

In a deliberately long drawn-out and tedious process, Keith is still aggressively pursuing exoneration. He has already been excluded by DNA markers obtained from some discovered biological materials. He is currently petitioning the court to test other physical items in evidence. In addition to other newly discovered evidence developing in the case. Keith has also passed the lie detector test given to him by one of America's most recognized and highly respected professionals in that field.

Keith is presently working on a book about his life. I have had an opportunity to read portions of it and must admit is one of the most amazing journeys undertaken. The sympathy I felt for him was undermined by the encouragement I was left with from having realized that despite my own personal encounter with incarceration and the many challenges/difficulties in life, we can overcome. Keith a single man with no children, have made amazing strives thanks, in part, to the support of a strong family unit and friends.
