Smoky is a very smart cat that lives in a small farm town called Nanafalia. He is also very cool and wears sun glasses most of the time because the sun hurts his eyes. Nanafalia is the only town around for many miles; the closest town to it is called Riceville, which is also a farm town that is larger than Nanafalia. It has more people, farm houses. On the farm where Smoky lives are many more cats, some dogs, and a variety of other animals, mostly farm animals. He is the only animal that lives inside the family farm house owned by, his friend. A boy named Mikie's dad Mr. Smith, whom he travels with to his Grandparents house in Riceville once a week. This made one of the other cats very angry because everyone like Smoky more than him.

A Cat Named Smoky is fun and adventurous reading for Children.The story is based in a rural enviornment. Most of the animal charachaters are cats and show the natures of cats while telling the story. This book is a mystery story for grade school children and at the same time has a moral outcome.
About the Author
Bruce L. Prince’s first pet at three years old is a cat. He is fascinated by how mischievous they can be. This story is based on a real cat in my neighborhood named Smoky, and Nanafalia is an extremely small unincorporated town in Alabama.
