About the Book
This is a three-part saga—the story of Veronica Murray Ayres, an English woman whose life began in the pre-WWII days in Wimbledon, a suburb of London. And later it describes her travels to many countries.
About the Author
Veronica Ayres, née Hilda Murray, was born in Wimbledon, England, and is the last of six siblings: Bernard, ex–P-51 fighter pilot; Ron, reporter/editor; Hughie, navigator on Wellington Bombers; Mary, ex–Women’s Land Army/Teacher; Ken, ex–REME engineer. Veronica attended London University, studying social work, which led to her eventual travel to Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania. On the way home, she stopped at San Francisco, USA, where she met her husband, Art. They worked in San Francisco for many years. They retired to Port Angeles, Washington, after which they had the opportunity to teach at the Electronic Engineering University in Guilin, China. Nowadays, Veronica is enjoying the peaceful and temperate climate of the Northwest.
