About the Book

On the Lower East Side of New York, there lives a gang of (animated) pigs. They escaped from a truck that was headed for a slaughterhouse in the meatpacking district of Manhattan. They cleverly disguise themselves as humans and dress in urban fashion. They talk like humans and walk upright. They are street artists that donate the proceeds from the sale of their work to charity.

Doc is their mentor and leader; he is their godfather so to speak. He has connections to the human world and is the conduit between the gang, their finances, and their patrons. The Eastside Pigs are anonymous philanthropic donors. They look a little bit like street urchins and a little bit like bad guys, but in reality, they are superheroes that help the old people, the children, and the poor that live in the slums of New York.

Their wealthy patrons are at the top of the chic and trendy art world in New York. They purchase artwork at very high prices thinking that it is magical, magnificent, and extremely valuable.

They live in their East Side headquarters under the subway system in New York. Their zany adventures take them to colorful places in New York such as SoHo, Chinatown, the Village, and Little Italy.

"A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Bal Jagat Children’s World. This organization donates toward humanitarian programs for impoverished children worldwide.”
