About the Author

Tatiyana Kraevskaya was born in a small town in Moldova. She was surrounded by the rich heritage of Moldovan songs, poetry, and art. Tatiyana learned to appreciate this beauty. She would spend hours after school sculpting figurines out of modeling clay and illustrating books that she read. Tatiyana met the requirements to enter the Children’s Art School. She studied drawing, painting, composition, and art history. Then, Tatiyana began studying at an art college. After graduation, she began working as a high school art teacher. Tatiyana chose to continue her education at the VGIK in Moscow, Russia, spending six productive years in the art department. The next professional step for her was a costume and set designer for movies. She also did some work for the theaters, gave private art lessons and showed her paintings at art exhibitions. In January 1994, Tatiyana immigrated to the United States where she continues to paint and exhibit her work at various galleries. She has also been nominated for several art awards. Her paintings are in museums and private art collections. In addition to painting, Tatiyana writes stories for children In December 1999 she became a citizen of the USA. Tatiyana Kraevskaya says, “Art is a spiritual language I use to communicate with people, no matter what language they speak. My work is about reaching every single heart by touching the deepest sanctuaries of the human soul. I invite viewers of my paintings and readers of my stories to feel a higher awareness of light and reality.”
