Excruciating pain was the first thing she was completely aware of: It infused her whole body but she noticed particularly her right Ann. With her eyes still closed, she told herself that while this pain was bad, she had hurt worse in the past and she would get over it. But in the past she hadn't hurt all over her body; just mostly on her back, buttocks and legs. So she didn't think she was back at home. She vaguely remembered people handling her. Then there was a siren but the noise stayed with her. All that was as though it was in a dream. Now as the pain came to the forefront of her thoughts, she heard whispering and soft talking nearly and began to wonder just where she was. The bright light shone through her closed eye lids. She attempted to slowly open her eyes, but then shut them again quickly because of the brightness. She heard a female voice say. "Turn off that overhead light. She’s trying to open her eyes." That was not her mother’s voice, so she was not at home. The bright light went out. Just a dim glow remained. So she slowly opened her eyes again. As she focused them, she saw a white-coated figure nearest to her. He was turned and talking to a woman, who she thought was probably a nurse. as the man looked like a doctor. Her heart gave a leap in her chest. Il ad they found her and committed her? The man had dark hair and his profile looked quite handsome. He suddenly turned back and looked at her. "Well. Hello. So you're waking up. That’s good." lie leaned down a bit closer to her, right above her face. "Now tell me, dear, what's your name?" Her mind raced. She remembered almost everything but couldn’t let them know that. All would be lost unless she had been unconscious for days and days. But she didn’t think she had been out that long. If so, she would have had IVs running into her arms and other stuff. As it was, she was just in very bad pain ...all over. All these thoughts raced through her mind in a few seconds. She closed her eyes a few minutes and then opened them again. She licked her lips. Stalling for time, and frowned. Then she tried to speak. It took a few tries before any sound came out. ..I'm. ..
