About the Author

Alanna S. Walker holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in both California and Nevada and runs her own private practice. Beyond her clinical work, Alanna channels her creativity through writing, using poetry as a powerful form of personal and social expression. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Alanna’s journey as a member of the LGBTQ+ community has profoundly shaped her perspective and inspired much of her work. Facing challenges within her family, social circles, and society at large, she turned to poetry to process and share these experiences. Her writing draws not only from her personal story but also from keen observations of the world around her, aiming to create heartfelt and relatable narratives that resonate deeply with readers. Life Defined Through My Eyes marks Alanna’s debut poetry collection. She plans to continue sharing her voice through forthcoming works, including additional poetry and short stories, inviting readers to see life through her eyes.
