Can I compare thee Can I compare thee to a summers day? No, for a summers day thou art not. Instead, thou art more comparable to the sun itself, with its beauty everlasting and strong. Just as the sun, thou art as wonderful as ever could be imagined, and as essential. For without thee, there would become no light of day, no pleasance of warmth, no summer. Without thee the world would become as dark as the hell that resides below it. Without thee there would be no I. Oh, such an incredible sight is the sun, and yet it cannot be gazed upon much longer than to catch a glimpse of its beauteous face. For a stare too long would take your very sight. And would blind the eyes that do attempt to have it as their own. Still, a simple glimpse is all that is required to burn its face unto you. And forever, then, will you wish to regard it with each yearning moment. Yet, never again do you indulge, for the fear that you might never be shown its burning glow again. As powerful as the love I have towards thee. As evergreen as the grass on which we stand. As perfect as the sun in its roundness and intensity. As beautiful as the moonscape in the night. That is how to describe thee, and yet the words are not as worthy as thou dost deserve. Is it that thou art perfection? More perfect than the sun is perfect. Is it that thou art life itself? Life before and during and gone. Perhaps, and even more. Can I compare thee at all to any creature or being or thing? Or art thou indescribable, much like the very words that spill from my lips as I attempt to speak my soul?
