About the Book
A lion meets a lone leopard resting in the trees away from him. The lion wants to fight but the leopard resists. Soon the mask comes off: "Why don't you come down and fight like a leopard; you, the strongest pound for pound creature on the Serengeti." ""No," the leopard responds, "go pick on somebody your own size." With all the bullying and harassment in today’s schools, I just thought this was the most poignant way to show that is up to the person to decide if and when he/she is going to have to fight. There is no honor in fighting, just an ego boost if you either annihilate or outlast the other person/fellow creature. Everything else is just clique gossip (agreed to lies) to pass time. This, with the help of Aesop, is what drives my writing.
About the Author
Mark is a visual artisan/poet that has found his voice in the flow of children’s literature. Yes, education is vital to acquire the necessary writing skills; however, to follow one’s own muse, I learned to follow nature and to trust what immediately comes to mind. This is not beat writing or anything-goes literature. I have simply understood that control confines a person’s true ability. Truth is not one’s point of view or interpretation thereof. It simply cannot be defined. Physical strength attempts to bend the truth into its favor as the physically weaker hopes and prays that he/she will not be pulled into the whirlwind. Moralizing is not truth either. I cannot define it nor can anyone else. I must keep this in mind as I take my writing skills into the classroom to teach English language arts to our next generation of writers and business professionals. Moreover, put the dream life away and engage in life. Inner strife is one’s own problem, and yes, most want to just go along to get something out of their own concept of deal. There is nothing you can do but to go on and open up the pages of your own book.
