Startled and overcome with delighting my best friend that I ran magnetically behind him knowing the position he put me in was possibly dangerous. We walked along the winding pathway for a long while sensing that although the door to our home was closing in behind us with each step, neither one of us was ready to admit that fear. Eventually though every tree around us appeared to be the same and no stars in the heavens were visible to show us the way. Panic seemed to be revealing itself behind our silence, fake smiles and fearful eyes.

Sunny and Cubby are two innocent children that deter from the wishes of their mothers and safe surroundings by venturing into the unknown darkness of a wooded forest. Lost and without guidance, they seek comfort from the first person they encounter. They have to face an unexpected horror that can possibly destroy or unfold an inner strength that erupts when all is lost. See how love then reveals itself from somewhere inside themselves and attempts to guide them home.
About the Author
Cynthia Diaz is mother, wife, and elementary teacher. She was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. She is blessed to have met a man who has given her faith, along with two other loves, their children, Niki and Robert. She sees children as a great inspiration and sometimes takes in the turmoil they experience and wishes she could save them all somehow. She continues to not understand the sadness and unwantedness some children face day to day from people around them or those they love. Her book reveals a realty that an innocent has to overcome in order to persevere and transform their reality to a better life they can uphold on their own. (If not now, someday soon).
