Giant George slowly walked over to the tree and stretched his legs and stretched his neck as far as they could go until his head was just about even with Little Leo. Leo managed to reach out and grab onto George’s neck. “Ow,” said George, “your claws are in my neck.” “Sorry,” said Leo. “It’s the only way I can hold on and not fall.” “Oh,” said George, “well, all right.” Poor George grimaced and groaned but bravely let Little Leo climb slowly down his neck using his claws till he reached his back and was able to jump down onto the ground. There was a stunned silence, and then a huge applause broke out. “Well done, George,” they all called out. One giraffe even came up and hugged him. He said, “You will no longer be named Giant George but Generous George.”

About the Book
Giant George and Little Leo is a heartfelt story about a giraffe and a leopard cub. George is huge. He towers over all the other giraffes, and they tease him because of his height. He has no friends, until one day, he rescues a baby leopard cub called Leo. Leo has gotten stuck in a tree. The leopards are so happy to have Leo safe and sound that they commit to protect the giraffes from any enemies, and George becomes a hero and finally has friends.
About the Author
Alexandra McMaster has been a project manager for the last eight years. She is also an artist, writer, and mother of two. She lives with her family in the Cayman Islands, where the tropical weather, white sandy beaches, and turquoise water inspire her to write and paint. This is her first children’s novel.
